|Purpose / Objectives||1. To evaluate the morpho- agronomic characteristics of three Golden Rice Lines (GR- IR64, GR- Taipei 309, and GR- Cocodrie) as well as their wild type and tissue culture- derived azygotic (non- transgenic) counterparts under screen house condition.
2. To transfer the beta- carotene biosynthetic genes from these Golden Rice lines to Philippine commercial rice varieties such as IR64, PSB Rc82, and PJ21 through molecular marker- aided backcrossing.
3. To conduct morpho- agronomic and grain quality evaluation of the parental materials and backcross- derived progenies.
