Purpose / Objectives To utilize a panel of bioluminescent E. coli strains as reporter of the antioxidant properties of several substances from selected Philippine plants.

Conditions for Approval 1. Aside from autoclaving the transgenic E. coli, the Committee requires acid treatment for at least 1 hour or bleach treatment of the autoclaved product to destroy the transgenic DNA.
2. The committee requests submission of the description of the kind of acid treatment that will be used.
