Purpose / Objectives To evaluate transgenic rice for resistance to insect pest.
Biosafety measures 1. Plants will be grown and tested in the CL4 Greenhouse adjacent to the NCBL Annex.

2. At the flowering stage, every panicle will be bagged to prevent cross -pollination or escape of pollen.
3. Plants and insects used in the experiments will be destroyed by incineration after use.

4. The seeds will be kept in sealed plastic bags inside a sealed metal container and stored in a refrigerator in the Plant Molecular Biology Laboratory.

5. All plant tissues will be incinerated
and soil and water used in the experiment will be autoclaved.
