Purpose / Objectives To be able to screen, isolate, purify and
characterize anti- tuberculosis compounds from marine organisms.
Biosafety measures 1. Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra
is completely non- pathogenic to both human and animals. Thus, Biosafety level 1 (BL1) with some modifications will be strictly observed in handling H37Ra.

2. Double autoclaving will be done to ensure that DNA materials from the organism, strain H37Ra of M. tuberculosis are destroyed.
