Purpose / Objectives 1. To study the molecular factors that determine the concept of resistance to a rice virus,its durability and/ or breakdown.
2. To characterize the diversity of rice viruses using molecular tools.
3. To develop serological diagnostic kits that are based on antisera produced from in vitro expressed proteins.
Biosafety measures 1. The virology lab will be locked at all times when unattended.
2. Restriction of any food or drinks inside the lab will be exercised.
3. All materials used in these
experiments will be autoclaved and
disposed properly.
