Purpose / Objectives 1. For construction of antisense construct, optimization of transformation and regeneration methods for mango;
2. For continuity of the project;
3. To develop transgenic papaya with
improved postharvest
characteristics.

2. Sterilization procedures
3. Personnel awareness of biosafety procedures
4. Labeling/ designation of “risk” areas
5. Decontamination facilities
6. “Biosafetiness” of equipment or facility
7. Life stages of plant/ organism to be monitored in facility.
Conditions for Approval 1. Any transformation activity must await the construction of P2 facility and that corresponding UPLB- IBC certification should accompany the advice when such activity will commence.
2. Greenhouse experiments must await construction and certification of BL2 facilities.
3. For greenhouse experiments, the proponent should specify measures that will be undertaken to limit pollen dispersal (e.g. bagging, polyploidy, etc.)
