|Project Title||RFLP Analysis of Rice Populations Segregating for Perennial Traits Using Probe DNAs from Sorghum Affiliated with Perennial Trait QTL|
|Project Type||Contained Use (Laboratory)|
|Name of Institution||International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Los Baños, Laguna|
|Project Leader(s)||C. Piggin|
|Experimental Facility/Site||IRRI, Philippines|
|Purpose / Objectives||To know if the probe DNAs are affiliated with perennial trait QTL in rice.|
|Biosafety measures||1. The bacterial isolates will be handled using standard microbial techniques.
2. All materials coming in contact with living cells will be autoclaved before disposal.
3. All experiments beyond isolation of plasmid DNA from each clone will be accomplished in vitro with naked DNAs.
|Conditions for Approval||The approval is for the production of clone only and any other subsequent activity involving the use of the same regulated material will have to be cleared/ approved by the NCBP.|
|Date of Approval||1998-02-27|
|Regulated Materials||pT7/ T3 Plasmids|
|Source||Texas A& M University|
|Subject||Letter of Dr. F.A. Bernardo for proposal endorsement and for permit to import pT7/ T3 Plasmids|
|Requesting Party||Dr. F.A. Bernardo, Deputy Director General for International Services/ IRRI, IRRI|
|Action of NCBP||Approved for implementation
