|Project Title||Analysis of Chemical Mutagens and Characterization of their Phenotypic and Genotypic Effects in Mice|
|Project Type||Contained Use (Laboratory)|
|Name of Institution||National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (NIMBB), UP Diliman, Quezon City|
|Supervising IBC||UP Diliman-IBC|
|Project Leader(s)||Cynthia P. Saloma, Assistant Professor|
|Experimental Facility/Site||NIMBB-UPD, Philippines|
|Purpose / Objectives||1.To analyze the phenotypic effects in mice as a test organism of candidate chemical mutagens.
2.To breed these mice when necessary.
3.To check for germ line mutations.
4.To characterize the molecular mechanisms involved in the emergence of the phenotypic changes.
|Biosafety measures||1. Glassware and other materials are sterilized using an autoclave, while facilities (i.e. table tops) are sterilized using 70% ethanol.
2. Test animals will be maintained in a secure animal room facility.
